We have two parks and a beautiful city lake here in the City of Providence that our public works department does a wonderful job maintaining. Westerfield Park is located behind Providence Elementary. We have very nice picnic areas, a large pavilion for hosting parties and events, tennis courts, updated playground equipment, a track for running or walking, a basketball court and three baseball fields. Our mini-park located in the middle of Providence at the corner of Broadway and Main St. is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the coal miner memorial statue or the beautiful landscaping while enjoying the view from our gazebo. Our city lake is located off of Highway 293s. Providence residents can take advantage of this wonderful lake. The city lake is great for fishing, hiking and having family picnic’s or outings. Boats are permitted only via use with a trolling motor. If you wish to go to the Tradewater river located right off of our city lake and do not have a key to the gate to get in and you currently have water from the City of Providence as a utility you may purchase a new key for $15.00 at the utility office located at 201 East Main St. Providence, KY 42450. We do not allow non-water customers to have a key.
